Primrose GHS Notification
June 1st, 2015 has come and gone. All US chemical manufacturers and importers were required by this date to comply with new US Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) Hazard Communication regulations with adoption of the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals. GHS provides a single international system that can be used to identify and communicate hazards while transporting and supplying chemicals across the world and the US. We are not changing any of the products in our portfolio as a result of this; we are only updating our labels and Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) [the old “MSDS”] as a result to comply and be able to ship product to you.
In the US, this regulation is legislated by OSHA and is expected to further improve the health and safety of workers within the chemical industry. It enhances the former hazard communication standard [Haz Com 1994] by “providing a single set of harmonized criteria for classifying chemicals according to their health and physical hazards and specifies hazard communication elements for labeling and safety data sheets”. (Reference: https://www.osha.gov/dsg/hazcom/HCSFactsheet.html)
We have updated all our product labels, sample labels and safety data sheets in this new format. All of our labels and SDS's have been transitioned to this new format.
You may now access Primrose product SDSs on our website.
If you are a distributor of our products, you may ship our products labeled with the current “non-GHS” style labels until December 1, 2015.
